ATMC STAFF PAYS IT FORWARD WITH GOLF TOURNAMENT PROCEEDS
by Daphne Yarbrough-Jones
ATMC staff recently held their annual employee golf tournament at the Panther’s Run course at Ocean Ridge Plantation, and proceeds from the tournament were donated to the Brunswick Adult Medical Clinic and New Hope Clinic. Each nonprofit organization received $1,250 which will be used to provide prescription drugs, basic healthcare, and diagnostic services to low income and uninsured residents in Brunswick County.

“With healthcare costs increasing every year, many Brunswick County residents are finding it harder to pay for basic healthcare services,” said Teresa Bennett, Golf Committee Chairperson. “Wellness is a priority at ATMC, so we decided to pay it forward by donating the funds that were raised to these organizations to help provide healthcare for others within our community. These contributions will make it easier for them to obtain preventive care and could cover life-saving treatments and services for some.” Bennett added, “Many thanks go out to the local businesses who graciously sponsored holes. Their support made it a success, and we could not have done it without them.”

In 2015 the ATMC Annual Employee Golf Tournament raised more than $2,000, which was donated to the Cape Fear Area United Way, to help meet the growing needs of local agencies.
