The project to bring faster internet to over 4,000 of ATMC’s most rural members has been completed. This is a
significant milestone as it ensures that 99% of our customers have access to internet speeds of up to 300Mbps.
Over the last three years, ATMC has invested more than $5 million dollars into Project 2019 by making network
upgrades that will allow the cooperative to serve customers in the rural communities of Supply, Ash, Bolivia,
Winnabow and areas west of Shallotte with a more reliable cable network that is capable of delivering faster
speeds and more high definition cable channels.
“Our goal is to provide members with a great internet experience, and our Project 2019 network upgrades have
allowed us to do that,” said Keith Holden, ATMC CEO. “It is very costly to upgrade rural areas, but it was important to
us that our members have access to broadband that is capable of supporting the many devices that are popular in
today’s connected world.”
ATMC has already begun the process of of phasing out the old DSL network and migrating customers in upgraded
areas over to the newer networks. If you are in an area where faster speeds have been made available through
network upgrades, we ask that you call 910-754-4311 to have your service converted. For more information about
internet speeds available in your location, visit atmc.com/project2019.
